Greywalls Golf Course
Location: Marquette, MI
Date Played: Sep. 2011
Clubhouse and Staff: Small, basic clubhouse that is combined with The Heritage Golf Course. To get to Greywalls, a staff member leads you on a golf cart about a mile up the side of a mountain.
Course Conditions: The course conditions are very good, but you almost do not notice them because of the amazing landscape at Greywalls.
Playability: Greywalls is very difficult to play the first time. Make sure you listen closely to the starter, as he will give you some important information about the course. Try and use a GPS or a yardage book as possible.
Scenery: Absolutely amazing. The name Greywalls refers to the large grey rock walls that highlight the course. Elevation changes like I have never seen on a golf course. Words cannot describe this course, it simply needs to be experienced.
Value: The best way to play his course is to include it in a “stay and play” package. It can be combined with Timberstone and/or Sweetgrass golf courses.
Overall Experience: In my opinion, it is worth driving or flying from anywhere in the country to experience Greywalls. Combine the trip with a few other Upper Peninsula golf courses and you can't go wrong.
